nodrugsAs parents, we want our children to grow up healthy and have no worry about their mental and physical state. However, some parents can be disappointed and angry when they find out that the child they’re taking so well-cared for is a drug addict. This can be a big blow for anyone, especially if you think you did everything right. But there are some things you do for your child and the whole family. Here are ten tips to help you through this difficult time.

    1. Accept the reality that your child is an addict. That’s the first thing you need to understand before your child can be cured. Yes, as a parent, you will never want to accept this, but doing so will be for the benefit of all of you.
    2. When you already know about your child’s addiction, research all the information you can get about drug addiction. You can go to a doctor or visit a reliable website that mainly talks about drug addiction. Being fully aware of everything that could happen to your child will keep you focused on the task at hand: make him stop using drugs.
    3. An addict cannot stop himself from using the drugs. Even if he keeps on telling you he can quit whenever he wants to, that’s not true. His brain has become dependent on it, and he will continue using it without your intervention. He needs you to help him overcome this addiction.
    4. After you intervene, don’t think that you can do it on your own. If your child is already an addict, only rehab will help him. No amount of pressure from you or anyone will be enough to get him to stop. And if you think some home remedies will cure him, you’re so wrong. It might just get worse, since he knows you won’t send him to rehab.
    5. Do not let your emotions get the better of you. Parents usually let their emotions get in the way. For example, when their child begs them not to send him off to rehab, they will allow him to stay. As you might know, going through rehab is very hard, especially when the withdrawal period starts.
    6. Also, don’t blame yourself for what happened. If ever you are part of the reason he’s doing drugs, you are surely not the only reason. You might not even be at fault, in any way. Your child probably had been pressured into using it, and now he can’t get away. Blaming yourself will only make matters worse.
    7. Find out what made your child do drugs from the very start. It could be because of school, love life, peer pressure, or some other personal matter. Whatever the reason, you should know what it is so that you can put a stop to it. That way, when he recovers, you will know what to watch out for. You will stop whatever is bothering him, or at least lessen his pain.
    8. Be patient with the results. The recovery of an addict can take months or even years, before he can kick the habit. Don’t easily give up on the thought of his full recovery, because that is still possible. Remember that there is no shortcut; every drug user has to go through a difficult withdrawal as part of his recovery.
    9. However, take note that a relapse is also possible. Even after his recovery, he might start his dangerous habit again. What you should do is take a close eye on him, so that the chances are less likely.
    10. Finally, the most important tip for all the parents is, do something. As a parent, it is your responsibility to help your child out. If you don’t do anything while he needs you, you’ll regret it for the most part of your life. If you know he’s an addict, immediately lead him to the right path or else something worse might happen. Drug dependency is life-threatening, so that’s all the more reason why you should help.

It takes guts to accept the fact that your child is drug dependent. Many parents choose to look the other way, thinking that it’s just a phase they’ll grow out of. However, they don’t know that some teenagers or adults never made it through that phase. Without the proper guidance, they will forever be an addict. Unless it’s for medicinal use, drugs is a big no-no.

Serving a forensic science internship is one of the most exciting and rewarding times in a persons life who has chosen fornsics as a career choice. Its the first time that they actually get to put their training to work on real evidence that has been gathered from actual crime scenes.

It is one thing to see in a classroom how things actually function in the lab with hypothetical cases and evidence but when the evidence is real and the actual conclusions that are being arrived at are to be used to solve a crime, it is a different story all together.

How does a person that is interested in serving a forensic science internship find a lab to serve it in? The fact is that forensic science labs regularly recruit their interns from forensic science schools and of course the best labs tend to recruit from the best schools.

A forensic science internship serves two purposes for the student. First, it allows a person to reinforce what they have learned, by assisting seasoned professionals with the actual work that is being done in a forensics lab. Secondly, it allows a person that has completed or is nearing the completion of their degree to work in a lab with with a certian level of flexibility.

This will help them in their final decision making process when they are deciding which direction to take in their career. Also, a forensic science internship is a time when a person that has recently graduated can begin to build a resume to use in finding a permanent job is a forensic science lab.

Choosing the right school to attend can be crucial in determining where you are going to be able to serve your forensic science internship. So, it is important to ask what their policies are on internships when selecting a forensics school to attend.

Have you ever done something crazy on a motorcycle, or seen someone that has? Sometimes its very cool, others you wonder if they have lost their brains. Well here are 30 photos of people doing some crazy stuff on motorcycles, some crazy, some very cool.

Motorcycle stunt riding is a expanding sport in the United States and the United Kingdom. However, United States law prohibits “stunting” motorcycles on public roads and it can even get you thrown in jail quickly.

In case you are purchasing a used motorcycle, check to see if the bike has been stunted. Check for flat spots around the front tire which usually shows you that the bike has been doing some wheelies as well as check for scratches that could have resulted from a crash. Stunting can trash the engine, transmissions and the suspension, so be mindful unless of course you want to use the bike in the same way, as a stunt bike.

Robert Craig Knievel, Jr. is by far the most famous American motorcycle daredevil. Now regarded as both an icon and a legend, he started his career as an entertainer in the late sixties. He performed a number of motorcycle jumps which were televised across the entire country. His attempt to jump the Snake River Canyon located at Twin Falls, Idaho back in 1974 was one of the most watched (it ranks number 4) event in ABC’s Wide World of Sports up until this date. He died in 2007, November 30 at the age of 69.

Some Motorcycle Stunts & Drill Teams in the United States include the South Florida Bike Crew, D-Aces Stunt Riders Motorcycle Team (Wasau, Wisconsin), TenNinety6 (Kalamazoo, MI) and the Hardly Angels (a Women’s Motorcycle Drill Team).

Bob Duffey, a professional Motorcycle Jumper was called “The Fastest Man on Two Wheels Backwards”. He’s got an ET of 11.71 seconds along with a trap speed of 122 mph. The man is untouched on the dragstrip riding backwards. This record was done on a 1979 stock Kawasaki Z1R-TC, his favorite bike, at an IDBA (International Drag Bike Association) sanctioned event.

Debbie Evans – The Queen of Trials was the very first woman to successfully ride in the US Trials during the late 1970s and is commonly regarded as the best female rider in the history of the sport.

Australian Robbie Maddison now holds the record for the “Longest Motorcycle Jump”. He broke it in January 2008 at an exhibition event sponsored by a big hotel. He leapt 350 feet, totally and ended up smashing the Guinness World Record of 277 feet, 6 inches (84.58 meters) set in 2005 by Trigger Gumm.

Probably the most widely known sport bike motorcycle stunt is the “wheelie”. It’s a trick where the front wheel or wheels come off the ground allowing the vehicle to balance on the rear wheel or wheels.

Other Popular Bike Stunts include the handstand (The rider does a handstand on a moving motorcycle), the Endo (a stunt which lifts the motorcycle’s rear tire off the ground while balancing the bike on the front wheel or wheels while still rolling), the Stoppie (stopping a moving motorcycle, so the rear wheel is raised in the air while the machine is balanced on the front tire and comes to a complete stop), 12 O’ Clock Wheelie (a kind of wheelie that is straight up and the rider scratches the tail of the motorcycle on the street), Circle Wheelie (wheelie while driving in a circular motion), and Combo Wheelie (a wheelie that features multiple rider maneuvers while on one wheel).

A full range of protective gear should be worn when attempting a stunt in a high powered motorcycle.

Forensic science is one of the most challenging and stimulating careers that someone can choose for a litany of reasons. This is because, unlike other science careers, forensic science deals with the law and most particularly criminal law. What a forensic scientist actually does, is to use science to come to conclusions and solve puzzles with regards to evidence that has been gathered at crime scenes.

Unlike other scientists however; the forensic scientist must be able to defend their conclusions in a court of law. So it is imperative that the conclusions that a forensic scientist arrives at be flawless, because if any of their science is less than credible in one case it can also mean that the conclusions in other previous cases may too be called into question.

Many people are drawn to a career in forensic science because it is a science career that allows them to help people who have been victimized find justice. Problem solving and real life puzzles are still more reasons why people are so drawn to forensic science as a career choice.

Forensic science is continually advancing and new methods of finding answers to the puzzles that are left at crime scenes are continually being developed and tested. This means that a career in forensic science can involve making new discoveries that can be used to solve crimes in the future.

Job security is still one more factor that can’t be ignored and with so many peoples lives being disrupted by a job loss, forensic science is a career that you can count on to stay with you your entire life.

Forensic science is not only intellectually stimulating but it is also financially rewarding as well and with the need for forensic scientists growing world wide it also offers an incredible opportunity for travel.
